The decision of the Planning Commission or Heritage Preservation Commission (Design review) is appeal-able to the City Council. Any applicant or other interested party who considers an action taken by the decision authority to be in error or in bad judgement may appeal the decision to the City Council.

Appeals of the Planning Commission or Heritage Preservation Commission action should be made to:

Community Development Director - Stillwater City Hall
216 North 4th Street
Stillwater MN 55082

All appeals must be in writing, and include the following information:

  • $50 appeal fee (Check payable to City of Stillwater)
  • The Case Number in which you are appealing
  • Type of application you are appealing
  • Reason(s) behind the appeal

The appeal must be received by the Community Development Director within ten (10) calendar days of the action of the Planning Commission or Heritage preservation Commission.
