Parking permits are available to purchase if you live or work in downtown Stillwater and are available to purchase by month, quarterly, semi-annually or annually. To apply for a parking permit, please visit Passport Portal.

• Upon applying for a parking permit, residents and employees will need to provide proof of residency or employment downtown.
• Permit holders are to park in designated lots, no on-street parking is allowed with a permit. For more information on designated lots, click on this map: Public Parking Lots Downtown Stillwater
• Permits are issued through the license plate number. No physical permit cards will be issued.
• Able to park in lots longer than posted time
• No parking permits in Lots 1, 16, 17, 18

Parking permits for residents residing within the Downtown Parking District.

• Located at 200 2nd Street North
• This location has a waitlist. For more information on current wait times, please contact City Hall at 651-430-8800
• A maximum of 17 residential parking permits are available in the parking ramp
• These permits are also valid in surface lots
• No on-street parking is allowed with permit
• Applicant must provide license plate number and proof of residency to purchase
• $35 per month. Permittees are responsible for additional convenience and processing fees

Parking permits for employees working within the Downtown Parking District.

• Located at 200 2nd Street North
• These permits are also valid in surface lots
• No on-street parking is allowed with permit
• Applicant must provide license plate number and proof of employment to purchase
• $20 per month. Permittees are responsible for additional convenience and processing fees

Parking permits for residents residing within the Downtown Parking District.

• These permits are not valid in the parking ramp
• No on-street parking allowed with permit
• Applicant must provide license plate number and proof of residency to purchase

Parking permits for employees working within the Downtown Parking District and slip owners of Mulberry Point Yacht Club.

• These permits are not valid in the parking ramp
• No on-street parking is allowed with permit
• Applicant must provide license plate number and proof of employment or ownership of a slip in Mulberry Yacht Club to purchase
• $20 per month. Permittees are responsible for additional convenience and processing fees

Beginning 12:01 am November 1, through midnight April 1, all vehicles parked on City streets must be parked on the side of the street that bears addresses that are odd and/or even according to the day.

• On odd numbered days, vehicles must be parked on the odd addressed side of the street.

• On even numbered days, vehicles must be parked on the even addressed side of the street.

Between the hours of 7:00 pm to midnight you must move your vehicle to the side of the street where parking is allowed for the next day. If your vehicle is found to be in violation of this ordinance, you may be issued a summons and your vehicle may be towed. This ordinance is necessary to allow proper snow plowing. If your car is not moved to the correct side of the street on the appropriate day, you are in violation of this parking ordinance.

Stillwater visitors may park for 24 hours in the Public Parking Ramp and Lot 12 only.  

Vehicle must be moved after 24 hours.

Downtown Stillwater Residents may purchase a Residential Parking Permit for overnight parking, valid in select lots.  Vehicles must be moved after 24 hours.

The City has four (4) spaces in Lot #12 on the north end of Downtown Stillwater.

The National Parks Service/Minnesota DNR also has a Public Boat Launch and Parking at the St Croix Boom Site just north of the City of Stillwater, in Stillwater Township on Highway 95.

The Minnesota DNR is working to complete a new boat launch in 2023 or 2024 south of the City of Stillwater in the City of Oak Park Heights at the St. Croix River Crossing.

There are 5 bus parking spaces located off of St. Croix Trail N. (Hwy 95) by St. Croix Boat & Packet Co. There is no charge for on-street parking.
