Notice to Individuals Served by a Galvanized Service Line

If your home or business was built prior to 1985 this notice may pertain to you.

All owners being affected by this notice have been notified via USPS mail.

If your home or business was built AFTER January 1, 1985 this notice does not pertain to your home.

The City of Stillwater is focused on protecting the health of every household in our community.

Galvanized service lines that have absorbed lead can contribute to lead in drinking water. People living in homes with a galvanized service line that has absorbed lead may have an increased risk of exposure to lead from their drinking water.  

  • service line is a pipe that connects buildings to the City-owned water main located beneath the streets. The City is responsible for maintaining the water system and water mains. Homeowners are responsible for the service line and all plumbing on site.
