Businesses located within the City of Stillwater conducting massage therapy related work must be licensed. Each business must apply for a business license and each individual massage therapists must apply for a license.

Submit applications via email or mail to the following:  Administration Department, City of Stillwater, 216 4th Street N, Stillwater, MN 55082.  Questions contact City Clerk at 651-430-8800. 

Below is a brief description of requirements.  View the license ordinance for a complete list of rules and performance standards. No license will be required for Minnesota Department of Health licensed facilities, health care practitioner, barbers, chiropractors, cosmetologists or students as part of a class.  

• Businesses must provide a certificate of insurance and license fee with their application.
• Individual therapists must provide education/certification requirements, copy of drivers license and license fee with their application.

Licenses are effective April 1 - March 31 and must be renewed each year.
