“150 Years Protecting the Birthplace”

On May 28, 1872 the Stillwater City Council passed by unanimous vote the fire department ordinance officially creating the fire department. The first official meeting of the Department was held on June 3, 1872 and the founding members elected officers, selected uniform articles and approved the official name of the organization to be known as Stillwater Steam Engine Company, No. 1.

150 years later, the Stillwater Fire Department provides an all hazards approach to protecting and serving the residents, visitors and surrounding communities. The men and women of Stillwater Fire share the values of serving our community with professionalism, respect, integrity, dedication and excellence – P.R.I.D.E. !
